News: Edinburgh’s Emelle add to the buzz of the IAStival
The hottest thing to come out of Edinburgh, Folk punk band
Emelle, are the latest act to be added to the impressive line up at
IAS b2b Marketing's ground-breaking IAStival - the first festival
staged by an agency - joining the likes of headlining acts, Turin
Brakes and The Sunshine Underground.
The band came to prominence after the three founding members -
vocalist Craig, bassist Owen, and drummer Rhys - sons of IAS MD Rob
Morrice, merged their musical talent, with guitarist Craig Finnie
to form the Edinburgh based, self produced and managed group, best
described as gypsy punk with 'an occasional glimmer of grime.'
IAS MD Rob Morrice, commented: "At IAS, we are extremely
supportive of new, hot talent and have supported Emelle and their
unique sound from the start. These boys are a fantastic addition to
the line up for the festival and I in particular will be proud to
see them making their mark at the IAStival.
"I know that the detractors will accuse me of favouritism in
booking Emelle, but I don't give a monkeys. My life wouldn't have
been worth living if we hadn't offered them a slot. And on top of
that they are brilliant.
"You may be forgiven for thinking agencies don't usually do
festivals, but IAS is never one to conform to the rules. As
pioneers for all things B2B, we likes to do things differently and
the launch of the first ever agency festival is proof that IAS
never backs down from a challenge."
The event, which is to be held from 9th September - 11th
September, will feature top headlining acts to a total of over 30
live bands, and it doesn't stop there. The 'IAS farm' will also
play host to an array of cultural entertainment, food, drink and
camping, for the agency's staff, family, friends and clients.
